Let’s Get Spooky on the Nintendo Switch!

The Nintendo Switch eShop is a literal gold mine of gaming goodness. And since Halloween is right around the corner, lets run down a list of really awesome Switch games to get us into the spooky ‘trick or treat’ sort of mood!

Haunted: Halloween ’86 – The Curse of Possom Hollow

Haunted: Halloween ’86 from Retrotainment Games is a completely unadulterated nostalgia head butt that gives gamers a chance to play a game that will transport them back to sitting down and popping in an 8-bit NES game in the 1980’s. It is an action platformer featuring some awesome beat ’em up mechanics set in a spooky town on Halloween night full of zombies and other monsters!

Creepy Brawlers

Creepy Brawlers from Mega Cat Studios is another creepy entry into the Switch eShop library. It’s gameplay is reminiscent of other 8-bit boxing games, such as Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. But, instead of your normal boxing ring with regular human fighters, you are taking on various monsters in a multitude of locations. One round might have you face off against the Frankenstein monster, the next might be Dracula.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon

If you are seeking out something like classic Castlevania games on the Nintendo Switch, go no further than Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. It is no surprise that this game looks and feels so much like the aforementioned Castlevania as it was created by the series long time producer Koji Igarashi. You play as Zangetsu, a swordsman seeking revenge on some demons who cursed him.

Stranger Things 3: The Game

Assuming you haven’t been living under a rock, you have probably heard of the Netflix hit horror series “Stranger Things”. Well, due to the overwhelming success of the series, a game was made for the third season of show by developer BonusXP. Stranger Things 3: The Game is a follow-up to a game that was only released on iOS and Android. The game uses a 16-bit visual graphic style with an isometric view. Gameplay is best described as an adventure with lots of puzzles, action and exploration. The game features solo or local co-op modes, so you can even play this one with friends! Just don’t get lost in the upside down…
