Observer: System Redux (Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, PC)

“Observer: System Redux is the next gen remake of the cyberpunk, detective thriller set in the year 2084 in Krakow, Poland. The world lies in ruins with corporations seizing power after the fall of governments. You do their bidding. No lie will remain hidden from you, as you hack into the minds of those you interrogate. When your past catches-up, you must act on your own and unravel the mystery of your son’s disappearance. Your name is Daniel Lazarski, you’re an Observer.” Gameplay Full disclosure, I’ve never played the original version of this game. So to me, I walked in completely blind to this remake of Observer. Observer, at its very core one might call it a simple walking simulator,… Continue reading Observer: System Redux (Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, PC)

Bounty Battle (Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC) Review

“Bounty Battle is the ultimate indie fighting game: a new multiplayer 2D fighter, where you can pit your favorite indie heroes against one another! Indie heroes from games like Guacamelee! and Darkest Dungeon, to Dead Cells, Owlboy & more battle it out in this fighter frenzy.” Gameplay The game starts off by giving this amazing vibe that it is Smash Bros but with indie game characters. So I am immediately on board. I go through the training and start learning the rather confusing controls. Get into the game, and it is just dreadful. Either the AI does absolutely nothing against you or they completely dominate you in seconds. There’s just no balance of the gameplay and the fighting mechanics just… Continue reading Bounty Battle (Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC) Review

A Journey Through The Best of #CageFest

On my Twitter Account I run what is called “#CageFest.” I do the fabled Twitter tradition of Follow Fridays with Nicolas Cage face morphs of characters, people, etc, morphed. I run several of these a week. There’s been some good ones over the past couple of years, and I felt it was time to share some of them that were my personal favorites. Alvin from the Chipmunks This one was just pure luck. It is a face morphing software, and it somehow detected a face on Alvin the Chipmunk. This is one of my all time favorites. Cats The Musical The Movie Cats the Musical was released in December 2019, and quite frankly, the world turned to shit afterwards. Around the… Continue reading A Journey Through The Best of #CageFest

WTF Wrestling Merchandise

Long time. No see! It is so great to be back and writing on the blog. What better way to be back than to discuss some of the greatest wrestling merchandise known to man? There’s Something About Triple H Action Figure Evidently Triple H picked up some hair styling tips from the classic film There’s Something About Mary. You have to admire the amount of dedication it would take to make your hair stand up like that. Is this a great action figure? ….Or the greatest action figure? Sable Yo-Yo Ahhh… the attitude era was edgy because they had ladies with big cleavage, and the leader was Sable. Press your luck against hordes of dangerously cute monsters and challenging roguelike elements in this all-round bouncy adventure! If you love roguelikes & Peggle, then Roundguard is for you. Roundguard is made by Wonderbelly Games and published on consoles by the Quantum Astrophysicists Guild. “ Gameplay This is a roguelike Peggle. Now having said that, I feel this takes the concept of Peggle, and not only addresses problems I had with the series, but also takes it to new levels I didn’t even think of. They definitely thought outside of the box. Some problems I had was when I finished playing… Continue reading Roundguard: Taking the Peggle Concept To New Levels

Super Mario Multiverse – Yoshi’s Cookie

March 10 may seem like an innocuous day for some, but for Nintendo gamers it is Mario Day or Mar10.  For this fun day I want to take you back. The year is 1992. I am at my relatives’ house for the holidays and I know I’m going to be absolutely bored out of my mind. I go into my cousin’s room to hang out and low and behold, he has a Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and just received a brand new copy of Yoshi’s Cookie. “What’s Yoshi’s Cookie?” I asked him.  Having heard of Yoshi from Super Mario World. I was intrigued. Could it be a solo Yoshi game? Could it perhaps be a sequel to the quirky puzzle… Continue reading Super Mario Multiverse – Yoshi’s Cookie

Hovership Havoc – Roguelite Twin Stick Shooter

Originally released for Steam PC, Hovership Havoc was recently brought over to Xbox One. It is described as “a twin stick shooter with 3rd person boss battles. Traverse through randomly generated rooms of a futuristic factory destroying robot enemies. Upgrade your hovership and obtain randomly dropped abilities that can strengthen your chances to survive through the entire factory. “ Gameplay The majority of Hovership Havoc is played as a twin stick shooter much like classics in the genre such as Geometry Wars. However, the levels and enemies are randomly generated. It has roguelite elements in that when you die, you keep your character’s progress, but start the game right from the beginning. About my only criticism for this is that… Continue reading Hovership Havoc – Roguelite Twin Stick Shooter
