They Exist: The CageFest Rejects
On this blog’s Twitter for GeekWithThat.com I run what is called “#CageFest.” I do the fabled Twitter tradition of Follow Fridays with Nicolas Cage face morphs of characters, people, etc, morphed. I run several of these a week. Sometimes I even do ones by request. However, not all have made the cut for one reason or another. I thought “Hey, that might make a good blog.” So here we go with the CageFest rejects. The Kid From Troll 2 “They’re eating her, and then they are going to eat me……OHHHH MYYYYY GAAAWWWWWDDD!” Troll 2 is my favorite “Best Worst Movie Ever.” However, I know it only has a cult like…

Memories of Shining Force
So the year was 1995. For Christmas that year my mother had given both my brother and I the gift of the Sega Channel. Sega Channel was 50 games on demand that you could download and play unlimited. The games would rotate out each month. Think of it as similar to Xbox Game Pass or Playstation NOW subscription services. My Introduction to RPGs One game that had caught my eye was a game I hadn’t heard of before, Shining Force. I have no idea why it captured me in, but it did. Was it the music earworming into my brain? The characters? The rather odd dialog due to translation issues?…

5 Wild Pieces of Video Game Box Art
I remember back in the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System when I went to my local video game rental store to rent a video game for the weekend. I didn’t have much to go by other than the eye catching box art. Nowadays, we have the internet which between content creators, media sites, and videos, we can learn everything there is to know. So the box art had to be wild in order for regular people like me to possibly take a chance on the game. Needless to say, here is some wild video game box art from over the years. Street Sports Baseball (Commodore 64) This guy looks…

Comic Book Panels Out of Context Returns
It has been TEN months since I’ve looked on the internet for isolated comic book panels that leave us with more questions than answers. Basically, everything, taken out of context. SANIC Man, as if Sonic the Hedgehog wasn’t already lowkey weird enough, we throw this panel into the mix. Don’t go to fanfiction.net, is all I’m saying. Modern Problems Require Modern Solutions When Taco Bell gets your order wrong, just follow Batman’s logic here… Spanker I feel like I’ve seen the adaptation of this comic in movie before, but it was on the deep end of the internet. Get Em Tiger Sure, we have just a Tiger Boy…. but where…

Odd Star Merchandise 2019 Edition
So this is the 3rd edition of this series, as this column comes around every Star Wars release. Well, this time, we are expecting the much anticipated Star Wars Episode IX – Rise of Skywalker (for better or worse), and we are also dealing The Mandalorian is kicking into high gear. But let us first talk about the one character who has stolen hearts of everyone, and that is Baby Yoda. In an effort to keep things spoiler free, they produced no merchandise for The Mandalorian. Well, its unfortunate too because Christmas seasons is here, and my wife is all “100% All In” on Baby Yoda (just like she was…

It has been 10 months since I did my last batch of Craigslist listings (Warning: That one NSFW). Suffice to say, not much has changed in the land of internet classified ads. There is still some bizarre stuff (and great stuff). Here is another round of listings, and hey, this one is Safe For Work! Have a Banana! Drive-In Intermission Videos: They Had Weird Advertising Ideas
When I was around 4 to 6 years old, my parents took me to the drive in theater. I remember seeing such movies as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Tim Burton’s version of Batman. Then, the local one shut down. I recently found out that there are still drive in theaters in the nation. One of them was about an hour away from me. They had 80s night at the drive in with Dirty Dancing and Labyrinth. My wife and I packed up to go to Harvest Moon Drive In Theater in Gibson City, IL. At one point, they had old school drive in intermission videos. It was interesting and…

Visiting the PSP Today
So the year for me is 2005. At that time I was personally working 50 hours a week, going to school 8 hours a week, and in the middle of my engagement to my future wife where we spent a lot of free time with each other. It was an exciting time in my life and one I do not regret. Having said that, I may have missed out on a few aspects of my nerdom. One of which was gaming. The passed by the entire Sony Playstation Portable or PSP. After getting a job with more free time, school being a thing of the past, and my wife and…

Dreamcast: Games You Need In Your Library
The Sega Dreamcast was a video game console that many argue it was ahead of its time. The Dreamcast was definitely widely underappreciated. It has been almost 20 years since its release and the game library has held held up rather well. I took to Twitter and asked everyone what is the one Dreamcast game that every one’s Dreamcast collection should have. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 For me, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the quintessential Dreamcast game. While the game was also released for PS2, Xbox, and later digitally on Xbox 360 and PS3, the best version of this game still has to be the Sega Dreamcast version. The fighting…

Books That Actually Exist – Sharks & Romance
They say never judge a book by its title or cover. That might be true but don’t tell me these aren’t some of the best (or weirdest) book covers you’ve ever seen. So here are some weird books of masturbation, romance, and sharks. Motherflipping Sharks Book on Amazon Much like the movie “Sharknado,” as soon as I heard the title “Motherfucking Sharks” and saw this cover… my response was one word. I mean, look at what is in the book description on Amazon: “Where I come from, the children sing a song: Oh the motherfucking sharks Oh they’re gonna come to town Oh they’re gonna kill the babies Oh they’re…
