On this blog’s Twitter for GeekWithThat.com I run what is called “#CageFest.” I do the fabled Twitter tradition of Follow Fridays with Nicolas Cage face morphs of characters, people, etc, morphed. I run several of these a week. Sometimes I even do ones by request. However, not all have made the cut for one reason or another. I thought “Hey, that might make a good blog.” So here we go with the CageFest rejects. The Kid From Troll 2 “They’re eating her, and then they are going to eat me……OHHHH MYYYYY GAAAWWWWWDDD!” Troll 2 is my favorite “Best Worst Movie Ever.” However, I know it only has a cult like following so I cut this at the last minute. George… Continue reading They Exist: The CageFest Rejects

Well, this time, we are expecting the much anticipated Star Wars Episode IX – Rise of Skywalker (for better or worse), and we are also dealing The Mandalorian is kicking into high gear. But let us first talk about the one character who has stolen hearts of everyone, and that is Baby Yoda. In an effort to keep things spoiler free, they produced no merchandise for The Mandalorian. Well, its unfortunate too because Christmas seasons is here, and my wife is all “100% All In” on Baby Yoda (just like she was with Porgs and BB-8). Unfortunately THIS is just one example… Continue reading Odd Star Merchandise 2019 Edition

Star Wars definitely has a far reaching fandom for the past 40-ish years. So naturally, they have monetized the shit out of it. If it has a Wookie, Stormtrooper, or Darth Vader, chances are… somebody bought it. So let us take a look at this odd Star Wars merchandise. Chewbacca Soup Okay, is this Wookie soup? And does Wookie taste like chicken? Revenge of the Sith Air Sickness Bag Hey, this might come in handy when watching Revenge of the Sith. In reality, it is probably appropriate for usage when watching any of the prequels, not just Revenge of the Sith. Especially during Attack of the Clones’ “I don’t like sand” scene. Porg Panties Yes this is a… Continue reading Who Wants This Odd Star Wars Merchandise?
I’m going to be upfront about this. The Howling II is horrible on almost all levels. Now, I love bad movies. What makes a bad movie fun to watch is that it’s still somehow very entertaining. Does The Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf fit that mold of both being awful but also ridiculously entertaining? To quote my favorite fictional musicians from the movie Spinal Tap… I discovered this movie through a review posted by my peeps over on VHSRevival.com. Check out the blog and also follow @VHSRevival on Twitter for more updates. This is sort of my first cult movie review on Geek With That so I am playing around with format. If you have any suggestions or questions,… Continue reading Is The Howling II the Worst & Best Werewolf Movie of the 1980s?
What is it about movie villains that we love? I’m not the kind of expert that could provide an educated answer on that sort of question. However, I can provide you a list of 5 of my favorites from movies. Who are your favorites? Let us know in comments or on social media. Die Hard – Hans Gruber Die Hard is a movie I can watch dozens of times and never get tired of it. Part of that is because of the performance of Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber. Hans had a charm to him. You knew he was bad but you couldn’t help but like him on some sort of level (even if he was reprehensible). I also want… Continue reading 5 Favorite Movie Villians

In 1977, Star Wars – A New Hope, was released. The world was never the same. As you can imagine, the success of that movie spawned countless rip offs at the time. With Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi coming out soon, I had to see at least one of these ripoffs. I found a doozy of one through poking around on the internet. It was released in 1979. It is called Starcrash. Well, that looks pretty damn blatant of a knock off. Let us watch it! The movie starts off with a ship trying to scan for life forms on a planet, but then the planet attacks the ship with red dots…umm… I think? That is when… Continue reading Starcrash – Possibly the Best Worst Star Wars Ripoff
